The inauguration of this year's Otylia Swim Cup took place in October at the Olympic-size Floating Arena swimming pool in Szczecin. The competition attracted nearly 500 competitors from all over Poland and participants from abroad.
After a long break, the series returned to Szczecin and already at the start recorded an excellent turnout. The start lists included young representatives of clubs from many regions of the country. Among the participants, there was also a female athlete who, together with her parents, had come all the way from London - the family announced their intention to compete also in the next part of the cycle, scheduled for the end of November in Debica. The atmosphere in the stands and at the starting posts indicated healthy rivalry and a high level of commitment, which was emphasised by the smiles of the competitors and their carers.
A lecture for coaches and parents on new technologies in sport - both their benefits and potential risks - returned to the event programme. The educational part was very popular, confirming the need for substantive support for the swimming community.
